Not all heroes received the Medal of Honor.  Those that did, of course, deserve our special thanks for acts that defined
courage, heroism, and self-sacrifice.  Many, in fact,
did sacrifice their lives--most Medals of Honor are awarded
posthumously.
But there are other men who have fought, bled, and struggled that we might live free.  They weren't trying to be heroes;
they were just doing their jobs.  Some were draftees, others were volunteers.  But all stepped up carried the burdens of the
war.  Over half a century later, all Americans now have these men as part of our heritage.  Let us remember their stories,
let us remember their names.

If you have a photograph and/or story of any man or woman
who fought on Guam in 1944, please forward them on and I
will dedicated a page here in the Hall of Heroes to them.  It

does not
matter if they were awarded a medal or not.  If they
fought in the Battle of Guam, then they have earned a place in
this roll of honor.
